The oil country lathes in our lineup offer spindle bore capacities ranging from 6 inches up to 24.02 inches. The Clausing CNC Lathe and FEMCO HL-55/1250 both support up to 24.02-inch bore sizes, making them suitable for large oilfield tubular components including drill collars, pipes, and casing strings.

Our oil country lathes provide swing-over-bed capacities ranging from approximately 28 inches up to 80 inches depending on the model. The Clausing CNC Lathe series offers swings from 35 to 80 inches, while the Clausing Engine Lathe series covers 13 to 70 inches, accommodating a wide range of large-diameter workpieces.

Yes. Both the Clausing CNC Lathe and FEMCO HL-55/1250 are fully CNC-configured turning centers, featuring Fanuc CNC control systems (with optional Siemens control on select Clausing models). CNC configurations support 2- to 3-axis operation, programmable tailstocks, hydraulic turrets, and CSS spindle speed control for precision oilfield turning.

Workpiece weight capacity varies by model. The Clausing CNC Lathe supports up to 6,600 lbs unsupported in the chuck, up to 14,300–33,000 lbs between centers, and up to 16,500 lbs with a steady rest. The FEMCO HL-55/1250 weighs 18,500 lbs as a machine and is built to handle comparable heavy-component requirements.

Clausing machines include a one-year warranty backed by the Clausing Service Center, which maintains over 80,000 parts with 95% of orders shipped within 24 hours. FEMCO machines supplied through T.R. Wigglesworth include delivery, installation, and training. Technical support is available via phone and on-site from qualified technicians.
