VDI (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure) turrets use a shank-style tool holder inserted radially into the turret face, making tool changes quick and straightforward — well suited for general turning and production work. BMT (Base Mount Turret) holders are bolted directly to the turret face, providing a larger contact surface and greater rigidity, which is advantageous for heavy interrupted cuts and high-precision applications. The majority of machines in this lineup feature FANUC CNC control as the standard system, renowned for its reliability and ease of use. The Clausing CNC Lathe series also supports Siemens CNC control and offers optional Fanuc Oi Control, giving operators flexibility to match their existing shop floor control environment.

Spindle power ranges from 20 HP on the FEMCO HL-250 for general machining, up to 35–75 HP on heavy-duty models like the FEMCO HL-55/1250 and Clausing CNC Lathe series. This range accommodates everything from high-volume production of smaller cylindrical parts to heavy interrupted cuts on large-diameter workpieces.

The Clausing CNC Lathe series offers the widest swing, ranging from 35 inches to 80 inches over bed depending on the model. The FEMCO HL-55 NT and HL-55/1250 provide up to 28.62 inches of swing, while the FEMCO HL-250 offers 20.6 inches — suitable for general turning and chucker-style production work.
